Before you disassemble your device, you should realise that this action may get rid of your device from the manufacturer’s warranty.
Disassembling the Oliver Book is quite simple. The first step you need to take is to remove the plastic back cover from the tablet part. To do this, you just need to snap off the cover around the screen.
I advise you to start this process from the camera side, because on the bottom side there are keyboard contacts that will prevent you from removing the cover.
Once the back cover is removed, the computer’s internal components become visible.
You may notice, that more than half of the inner space is occupied by the battery.
To access the motherboard components, you must remove the two sticky tapes and undo the four screws, holding the cooling plate.
Under the cooling plate we see two chips, that are in contact with the cooling plate via thermal pads.
One of them is the processor, and unfortunately I don’t know the purpose of the second chip.
After removing the cooling plate, there was a small piece of thermal pad left on the processor. Therefore, I advise you to buy replacement pads before disassembling the device.
You can also see that the SSD drive is represented by an M.2 format module.
If necessary, it can be replaced with another one.
